Safari Browser Slower than Dial-up

I have Monterey 12.7.6 on a MacBook Pro 2016. For about a year now, Safari has been slower than imaginable to load any webpage. I do have a great FIOS connection, I do not have insane numbers of tabs open, I have cleared the cache, and nothing helps. I recall the slow connections long ago with dial-up, and this is worse than that. I'm starting to think that Safari is just a bad browser. Sadly, it has all my passwords, so if I go to a different browser, it will be a huge task to import all of those.

Has anyone found a way to speed up Safari? TIA!

Consider the fact you are using an approximately nine year old Mac to load websites typically designed on current production high end $10,000+ workstations by developers paid to impress the clueless managers who sign their paychecks. You are not their concern.

Needless to say, if you are using any non-Apple "anti-virus", "cleaning", or "Internet security" products including "banking security", anything at all in that broad category of utterly useless garbage, don't. A lot of things won't work if you do. And if you are using a VPN, don't.
