I resorted the desktop files by name; all in alphabetical order. But, it starts in the top right corner, goes down to bottom right, then starts again at top. So, it kinda made columns reading top to bottom and right to left.
How do I get them in rows going left to right then top to bottom?

The Desktop organizes files in that manner and does not behave like you see in a Finder Window. You can also use Stacks to organize files by file type and order as you choose. Cleans up the Desktop nicely but does not stack Folders.

That's "un-American" (lol) - it should be right to left!
