2015 Mac has Monterray 12.7.6 - recurring error with Microsoft 365

Hi, iMac won't let me upgrade to Sequoia because my computer is too old. I subscribe to Msoft 365 and have to use it for business in my home office on this computer. Just last week, received a 365 message stating because I'm not on Sequoia, I can't get 365 software updates and I can only VIEW my files and can't change or save them. Can I pay to upgrade to Sequoia or is there another work-around option other than buying a new iMac?

iMac 27″, macOS 12.7

If you have MS 365 (aka Office 365) on your Monterey 12.7.6 Mac, your apps will continue to work normally. You will just not get any more updates. Updates are only currently available on Ventura, Sonoma & Sequoia.

If you got a messge saying your documents are View only, then you have either logged out of (deactivated) the MS 365 apps on your Mac or your subscription has ended. If you deactivated, you can always reactivate. If your subscription ended, you can always reinstate it. You don't need Sequoia to do that.

Or perhaps the wording of the message was not entirely clear. Have you opened any of your docs to verify that you can still edit & save them?

I am running MS 365 on Monterey 12.7.6 and it works perfectly fine. Updates ended last fall. But they still work. In fact I even have older versions on a Catalina iMac and a High Sierra MBPro and they also continue to work just fine.

The final MS 365 versions on Monterey are 16.89.1 (Word, PPT, Excel) and 16.89.3 (Outlook).
