The videos are recorded onto a SD card which plugs into the Mac Studio.... The files are viewable if the same computer is booted from a external SSD drive connected by USB 3...

The same files are NOT viewable when the computer is booted from the same Macs internal SSD drive.

This happens in Ventura OS AND then in Sonoma OS, both fully updated.

Blackmagic support says it seems to be a file issue on my Mac Studio M2. They just finished testing the HyperDeck Studio HD Mini recorder and found no issue.

HD Space is not the problem. I have over 1-TB of free space.

The same issue of "Black" video with these files also appeared on a associates Apple M-1 laptop.

The files view OK on a 2017 intel iMac.

The files are viewable when booted from a USB connected SSD on the M-2.

I am wondering if one of those recent security updates affected the main startup HD?

MP4 files from other sources are OK.

Only the files from the HyperDeck Studio HD Mini recorder are affected at this time but Blackmagic tested it and found no issue.
