Itunes playlists not recognizing songs being moved

I've used iTunes for years as a mobile DJ. Old windows laptop with windows 7 and Itunes 11 works great. Two newer laptops windows 10 and 11 with latest iTunes updates will not recognize changes made to playlist. I move songs around all night within a playlist especially while a song is playing and it will skip over whatever song I move under current song playing. If I click on the "Up next tab" on top of screen, the song just moved will not show and not play. The only workaround I've found is to click twice on the shuffle symbol (top of screen to the left of current song playing) and that will fix it. So every playlist move I make, I have to do that. Shuffle is off, sort is set to "playlist." I think it is a glitch that needs fixing or I may try to delete iTunes and install and order version, but which one?
