mac mini intermittant video and sound issues

on two occasions now my new mac mini and apple display the video and sound just stopped working for no apparent reason, using once Skype and another time Zoom. After restarting back working, but cannot do this in the middle of a Zoom call.. Any ideas anyone?

Do you have any third-party Anti-Virus, Protecting, Cleaning, Optimizing software or use a VPN...?

What other App's are running at the same time that you are making a video call...?

EtreCheckPro is an excellent tool for finding and sorting out problems.

Download and run the free version of EtreCheckPro, from > https://etrecheck.com/en/index.html

Looks like you installed Avast on 1-13-25 and then did not properly uninstall it.

If you can not find, stop and delete the Avast extension, then refer to the developers web-site for the proper uninstall instructions.

Also FWIW, some of those SanDisk Extreme SSDs are bad.

Check the two that you have. If they fit into the lawsuit, then they need to be replaced.

To rule out a problem that might be caused by those SSDs.

I would eject and disconnect them, before the next Zoom call.
