Playing a cash out game my instinct said it was a scam I did not give my info can my card be locked

Apple Pay didn’t work My Apple Pay is set up with my card but when I tried to buy something of an app it asked me to add a card to my account so I did and everything was fine but I deleted the card I just added ( not the Apple Pay card) so I thought it wouldn’t work on app purchases but it still did work now using my Apple Pay card and now I wonder why did it ask me my card and could it be a hacker or something like that because I recently had a scam link sent on my phone that I clicked on but I think it was fine after reading some info off the internet but now I don’t now anymore

Is apple pay secure? yesterday I made a purchase from well known brand app (sports company) using my iphone and everything went as usual and that was my only purchase this day. The next day I was surprised by several attempts on my apple pay to purchase from the same app (declined by the way) ! I was surprised as it was through apple pay not the bank ! Did somebody hack my apple pay? What do I have to do? I paused the card from the bank but is this going to happen again? Is this normal? Do I have to cancel the card? Please help

Apple Cash card/account cannot be locked. It’s a prepaid debit card, so literally when the card is used, it’s like handing the recipient cash, hence the name Apple Cash.
