Sustain pedal recognized but not sustaining notes

The sustain pedal works outside of Logic and is recognized when pressed in Logic. Its also working and learning new commands that it will perform when pressed but it won't sustain a pitch. M1 Pro / Sequoia 15.3

Logic Pro X sustain not releasing I have been using my M-Audio Hammer88 controller happily with Logic Pro for two years. I have a Yamaha sustain pedal plugged in to the sustain input in the back of the Hammer88. In the last week, when I record the keyboard into a Logic Pro project, the sustain pedal will not release, and all of the notes continue to ring, making a sonic mess. I have tested the sustain pedal on a Technics keyboard (not a usb keyboard, but a standalone keyboard). ... it works fine. I have two other sustain pedals (an m-audio, and a technics) ... they both work fine plugged into the Technics keyboard, but all 3 produce the same problem in Logic Pro on my Mac Studio when plugged in to the Hammer88.... when I press the sustain pedal and then release, the notes continue to ring as with the Yamaha. So, it's not the Yamaha pedal only ... all three produce the same result. I assume something has happened with the audio/midi setup in Logic Pro, which is not receiving a stop message from the sustain pedal. I have hunted around in Logic Pro, but I don't know the parameters to change to try to get the M-audio's stop signal to register. It seems that the pedal is ok, and the m-audio keyboard is ok, but the signal to release the sustain is not getting through to Logic. As I have been trying to fix this, I have also lost my C note below middle C (C3) ... does not play. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Sustain pedal gets inverted in the current version this happens when you are pressing the sustain while changing a patch. It gets inverted. So when releasing the pedal notes are hanging. And when sustain is presses the notes are released. to solve that now i have to go i to mainstage and click with the mouse on the sustain icon. Garage Band + Keystation 88 mk II problem Hi! I've used Mac Mini M2 with Keystation 88 mk2 for a while and everything was super-fine. Than, suddenly, Garage Band started to act weird - when I press a key it plays the sound when I press it and then when I release it + it gets sustain - there is no way to play normally. I tried to switch polarization on sustain pedal, tried to reset midi drivers - still the same. After a while I downloaded some random MIDI keyboard app and it worked normally, so the problem is caused by Garage Band. Also, the app says there are 3 or 4 midi inputs, but the controller isn't seen as Keystation 88. I have no idea what to do - I tried to reset factory settings on Keystation, I tried uninstalling Garage Band and nothing changes.

This might be a stretch but perhaps you are using a software instrument that does not utilize sustain? Can you check on other instruments? I would also try and do this without the pedal to confirm that the software is working. After that, use the pedal to confirm if it is a hardware issue. Good Luck!
