Disk not ejected properly message in Sonoma I have an iMac Retina 5K 27 inch 2020. I use a SanDisk drive for my Time Machine backups. I am running Sonoma 14.1.1. When I wake my Mac most mornings, the Disk Not Ejected Properly Message appears. My backups seem to be working properly. Rebooting causes the message to go away. My energy saver is set to Prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off. Since rebooting causes the message to go away and my backups are current, how concerned should I be?

http://www.binaryfruit.com/ has DriveDX which also supports external drive examinations.

I would have a run on it with that to see if the drive still has viability.

Regardless you should always backup your data to multiple sources and test them regularly.
