Bluetooth Device Type not showing the right symbol

Before (Right)

Since iOS 18.2 (Left)

Since iOS 18.2 update, the bluetooth device type is not showing properly, anyone?

Even if i select "Car stereo" or "Headphones" in Bluetooth>Device Type, the symbol doesn't change for the device type selected.

(that's not Driving Focus or Carplay)

Since the images posted are cropped I am forced to guess what I cannot see.

  1. Both Right and Left have volume Slider
  2. Both Right and Left have comment icon
  3. Both Right and Left have an Overflow Menu
  4. Both Right and Left have SharePlay
  5. The left image says connected via Bluetooth
  6. The right image says on Drving focus. --> Status icons and symbols on your iPhone - Apple Support (IN)

What is not clear is...

Is this Wired or Wireless CarPlay?

Is this the Control Center?

Is this connected to Apple Music or any other?

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

Bluetooth Car Icon Showing Incorrectly in Media Player (Apple Music & Lock Screen)

I’m having an issue where my car’s Bluetooth connection is no longer displaying the correct icon in the media player on my iPhone.

The Problem:

• Previously, when my iPhone was connected to my car via Bluetooth (with Driving Focus disabled), the car icon appeared in the bottom center of the media player in Apple Music and on the Lock Screen music player.

• Now, instead of the car icon, it’s showing a Bluetooth speaker icon (a speaker with a Bluetooth symbol).

What I’ve Tried:

1. Checked Bluetooth Device Type – In Bluetooth settings, I set my car’s connection to “Car Stereo”, but this didn’t fix the issue.

2. Driving Focus – I’ve always kept Driving Focus disabled, so it’s not causing this.

3. Reconnecting Bluetooth – I tried forgetting the device and reconnecting, but the incorrect icon remains.

• This issue started after 18.2; before, the car icon always displayed correctly in both Apple Music and the Lock Screen media player.
