My IPad Pro 12.9 2nd generation finally auto-updated to iPadOS 17.7.5 after months of being unable to perform any update. However I'm getting a "Cannot Verify Server Identity" message for "google.com" and calendar.google.com, and also an SSL error with Dropbox. The details on the certificate are *.google.com issued by WR2 - Not Trusted (Expires 4/28/25).

I found something on another thread about resetting network settings and that worked. It's Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset Network Settings
This then required me to log back in to my WiFi but after doing so the problem was resolved.
That post said that if that did not work you could try doing Reset All Settings.
Mail app WAS able to access gmail until I deleted the gmail account in the calendar section to get rid of the net error warning, this deleted the gmail account of the whole system. Now I can’t configure it again, no connection to the server
this is getting better by the minute.
I’ve solved it on my end! I had to completely erase and reset my entire iPad. It’s in general settings all the way at the bottom. If you have an iPhone and Apple account it should save everything so when you set it up as a new iPad again you should be able to use your Apple account to get everything back. But it fixed the issue for me!
everything solved by itself overnight, no other actions performed on my end (other than the stated in previous answers)
Yesterday morning gmail loaded normally and every google app is doing all right since.
I activated the “update critical system files” checkbox in updates configuration, guess some system archives were updated on their own, because, pfew, what a windowsupdatelike bug!
Did any of you notice the disappearance of a huge amount of free space after this update?
easily 10 gb are now gone, may not seem much to lose in a 256gb device, but it’s a lot in a 64gb one…

also, none of the google apps are working. YouTube , google, google maps and google earth are all offline and some other websites are still giving the not trusted certificate warning. Some of them are accesible clicking on ignoring the risks, but google sites are not. Had to eliminate the calendar google account to stop the error warning window.
somehow mail app is magically able to access and download from the gmail account

I am having same issue with 10.5 inch version don’t know how to resolve this if u find any solution pls update
same here, 10.5 version can’t access gmail or google, nor the google calendar and random webs like ikea. not even using chrome.
