Apple Music app unable to connect to the internet on old MacBook Pro 12

My apple music app can't connect to internet. My wifi works and I can go to webpages on safari and my computer is up to date with program updates. Is it that my computer is to old for it to work?

Music App does not open on 14" MacBook Pro M3 (2023 Model) Every time I click the Music App icon it opens up without loading the content (the whole window is empty). As a rule it always opens with all the recently added albums visible. Now there is nothing on the screen. And my mouse pointer when being in the framework of the Music App itself looks like a circular symbol showing that the app is still downloading but without any result. Why is Apple Music not connecting on my MacBook Pro? When I launch the Apple Music App (on an Intel MacBook Pro 11.3 running Big Sur 11.7.10), I suddenly cannot connect to Apple Music (i.e. the Listen Now, Browse and Radio options). I've tried: to logout then log back in to my Apple account (no change); check my subscription is current (it is); my Apple Music subscription works on my iPhone; my Mac is authorised; turning NetBarrier or VirusBarrier (both from Intego) off makes no difference; restarting the Apple Music app or the Mac makes no difference; Apple Music preferences seem appropriate; my internet connection is fine. Interestingly, I can access the iTunes Store from within the Apple Music app. Any suggestions would be very welcome! [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Enabling of Genius Fails I have been struggling for some time to get the Genius feature working in Music.app. A number of discussions I'd come across ended on simply turning the feature off and back on. I tried it out and now I can't turn it back on. The app really seems to be failing to reach some backend services out across the Internet. I've tried for hours trying to Wireshark and MitM the traffic coming out of Music.app to see what's failing. I've tried my best to filter suitable log entries out of Console.app. Nothing gets me close to understanding what's failing. Is some TLS cert broken somewhere? Is DNS feeding faulty addresses? Is there some key pair in the Keychain broken or missing? I can't tell. What I can tell is that this is only a problem on my Apple Silicon Macs (presently running 13.3.1) An old Intel Macbook Pro running 12.6.5 can have the Genius feature turned on, off, and update. It seems like connections opened by Music.app to URLs properly function. I see "completed" connections to: https://upp.itunes.apple.com https://xp.apple.com https://genius-3.itunes.apple.com But maybe there's some other process that's not Music.app that's trying to do this Genius work. Does anyone know how this is supposed to work or what needs to be open on the network or host? Are there any tech docs out there? I really miss my Genius playlists. Cheers, gurple

My late 2012 Mac mini running Catalina connects to the iTunes Store and the Apple Music service just fine, age of machine/OS shouldn't be an issue here. Do you have any security or VPN software that might interfere with communications?
