Home and Lock Screen usage will include some background activity from apps and also from the iOS. iOS background activity includes syncing, backups, network activity, auto updating of apps, and devices such as Apple Watch.

Post the Activity by App list and you’ll see.

That is usually the sign of after you first setup or update your iPhone, and that it must carry out several background tasks including indexing to complete. In which it will show as “Home and Lock Screen” in your battery graph. Give it a few days and it should decrease much lower.

High Home and Lock Screen usage is indicative of background activity. Look at the background activity of Instagram and other apps.

The other list of usage (Show Activity) will provide a better indication of what apps are consuming battery capacity when locked. Look at both your 24 hour and 10 day usage.

Yes, perfect, see in upper left Activity by App? That’s your clue. For example Spotify had only 1 minute on screen, but 31 minutes in background. That’s network activity, screen brightness, Bluetooth activity etc. Instagram has high background activity as well.

Do you have any Widgets on your Home or Lock Screen? If the are constantly updating, that can be a drain. So can Notifications and scrolling through notifications. High screen brightness will have a dramatic effect on battery consumption during those times.

Did you recently update iOS in say last 5 days? What does the 10 day usage show? The 24 hour usage gives a glimpse into just high consumption over a small time frame 10 day usage may be more useful in your case.,

Hi Shirley, the raise to wake comes with an auto-lock option as well.

It’s probably from always on display so… you need to turn it off in settings.
