iOS 18.3.1 update breaks copy/paste from Mac to iPhone Notes as text

Up until now I have been able to copy and paste text (such as from a Word document or even from the Internet), using my MacBook Pro Ventura 13.2.1 and paste it into my notes app on my iPhone 13 Pro (now iOS 18.3.1) and it would wrap beautifully and allow me to format how I wanted it and make any desired changes to it.

Now, after updating today, I wanted to copy a recipe from my Mac to my iPhone notes to take with me on a trip and it will only post as a PDF instead of as text. Is there a way I can get around this? If not, please put it back the way it was as it was far easier to use, or at least give us an option on how we want to save it.

If Universal Clipboard (the feature that allows copy-pasting between iOS and macOS) is not working, it is not directly related to iOS 18.3.1. Instead, the issue could be due to other factors, such as:

  1. Handoff Not Enabled – Universal Clipboard requires Handoff to be turned on in Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff on both devices.
  2. Same Apple ID – Both your iPhone and Mac need to be signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID.
  3. Bluetooth & Wi-Fi Issues – Both devices must have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled and be near each other. Try toggling them off and on.
  4. Clipboard Delay or Bug – Sometimes, the copied content does not immediately sync. Try waiting a few seconds before pasting.
  5. Website Restrictions – Some websites block text selection and copying.

If copy-pasting works within your iPhone, but not between iPhone and Mac, it's likely an issue with Handoff, connectivity, or macOS settings rather than iOS 18.3.1 itself.
