Deleting objects from photo

I’m trying to remove an object from a photo. I keep seeing online that there is a “clean up” option but I don’t see it. I’m on IOS 18.3.1. What about the mark-up pixel/object eraser in edit photos mode?

There is a choice between pixel or object eraser. I tried both, but neither had any effect at all on the image. How is it supposed to work?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 18

I'm afraid that the Clean Up tool is not available for your phone. See this:

Requirements to use Clean Up in Photos - Apple Support

The relevant section says Clean Up requires:

iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max; any iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later; Mac with M1 or later

iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, or macOS Sequoia 15.1

The iPhone 12 just doesn't have the hardware for Clean Up.
