How do I restore the Find My iPhone app on my Apple devices?

My Find My IPhone app is not working. I've used it for many years on al my apple phones and computers. Suddenly, it just disappeared. I'm not sure how to get it back. It doesn't even show up in my apps.

All details above. Thanks.

We may be talking about two different apps.

  • Find My is the current app. It requires iOS 14.0 or later.
  • Find My iPhone is an app from long, long ago that requires iOS 8.0 or later.

Wikipedia says that Apple originally released Find My alongside iOS 13.0, to perform the same job as the old Find My iPhone and Find My Friends apps.

It is possible to remove the Find My app.

Remove or delete apps from iPhone - Apple Support

"Removing this app doesn’t turn off location sharing or Find My for your device or items—it just removes the ability to view locations in the Find My app on that device."

If one removed the app (instead of simply removing the Home Screen icon), I assume one could get it back with a trip to the App Store.
