How do I install Find My app on iPhone SE?

My husband & I both have IPhone 8SE phones. When I try to install Find My Friends app it indicates that specific features not available on the device are needed to use the app Is there another app that would work on these phones or something I can change to use the app

Umm... "iPhone 8SE" is not an actual model, but under your post it does say "iPhone SE, iOS 17"

iPhone SE 1st generation only goes up to iOS 15.8.3

iPhone 8 and 8 plus only go up to iOS 16.7.10

iPhone SE (2nd generation) and SE (3rd generation) both support iOS 17.6.1 (and the future iOS 18) - Do you have either of those?

The 8 and 8 plus shipped with "Find My", which is supposed to find people or devices.

The SE (1st generation) is supposed to have shipped with "Find My iPhone" and "Find My Friends"

On your phone(s) go to Settings > General > About and then click on the "Model Number xxxxxxxxxxxx" which will magically (and cryptically) change to a 5-character model number, typically beginning with "A".

Then see Identify your iPhone model - Apple Support - and match up the model name with the model number. By clicking on the "Tech Specs for [that model name]", you can see all the hardware and software features, including the apps it originally shipped with.

For iOS 17.6.1 try iPhone User Guide

Table of Contents > Apps > Find My > (and pick one)
