Why does my iPhone 12 keep showing as 'invalid SIM'?

I have taken my phone to my carrier store where they activated an e-sim. It worked for about a week then out of the blue started doing it again. Then randomly a couple weeks later started working again. Now it happened again! This is 3 times after the e-sim was activated. Do I just need a new phone?!

Troubleshooting a Bad SIM Card:
Take this back to your Carrier, asking for a new one, once more. It seems you have a faulty card.

You do understand they are using an eSim, not a card right?

They shouldn’t have had to open the second sim, the carrier should have all the access to turn it back on, your carrier owns your sim that’s why it’s locked to their network I.e. Meto, T-Mobile, Att so on. They make you use there services for a specific time limit before you can switch your line to a different service carrier. After that your phone becomes unlocked and you can pick whoever you want for service.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 14 Pro Max for around 5 months but only when it powered off and back on. I went to my carrier about 5 times finally they just gave me the sim number to reinsert when I had a problem. I had to yous the number a lot but it worked. It’s fine now don’t know if an update fixed it or what but I don’t need to reinsert it now. Ask your carrier, est if you walk in ( you know them ) and ask for the sim # and keep it SAFE somewhere, use when needed. That’s just my experience different phone and my opinion. Good luck. P.S. don’t try putting the # in if you don’t know it, to many wrong try’s your phone WILL lock up on you. Good luck.
