The website states that the serial number consists of 17 and the mouse purchased at an authorized point has 18 characters, made on 10.2024. is this a possible version of the original serial number?

I just had a query on how to register a recently purchased Apple Magic Mouse with serial No contains 18 characters i.e. CC2H9xxxxxx55 and on the packet it is also written as (SKUxxxxx/A), MODEL No A3204. Further, may I request you to kindly inform us that the product is genuine Apple Product and not the refurbished one? As it has been purchased with the help of a university (Indian Institute of Science Bangalore) registered vendor.
Also when I am entering this no on Appple support it is saying an invalid Serial no as according to this it should contain 17 characters only.
Therefore, I am having doubt about the product. I request you all to kindly express your ideas regarding this. Thank you.

Also note that you are not addressing Apple employees here. We are just fellow Apple product users that volunteer our time to assist others with their Apple devices. We have no means to verify the authenticity of the product your purchased.
According to Apple, the Apple Magic Mouse would only have a 17-character serial number. The fact that yours has 18 could indicate that it is a fake or refurbished (by the vendor).
How can I verify the serial number of my Magic Mouse-MXK53ZM/A?
