Want to disable auto switching spaces with drag right or left..

I'm a Logic Pro user. Often, within Logic, I will need to select a region, and want to move it to somewhere to the far right side of the project. This requires me to click and hold the region at the right edge of the screen. But, because i use spaces, this is set up to also switch me to another space. So I'm suddenly wooshed out of working in Logic, into a completely different space.

I've searched high and low, and have tried all of the Mission control toggles "Automatically switch spaces..." "when switching to an application.." etc... but none of these actually change the behavior. I'm always able to click and drag myself to another space by going to the right or left side of the screen.

Let me know if this makes sense.

I really need this to stop so that I can do what I'm trying to do. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
