Caller ID is displaying US based numbers appear as international numbers

My iPhone 15 pro max running iOS 18.2.1

This is new condition that I am noticing since I upgraded to 18.2.1

Caller ID is displaying US based numbers appear as international numbers

For example the real number calling is 202-555-1212

And my iPhone displays the number as +20 25 551 21 2 and claims the called is in Egypt ( the country code for Egypt is +20 ). Is this something fixable?

I just upgraded to 18.3 and hopeful this version will go back to the previous behavior I am used to.

Go to Settings/General/Language & Region and make sure it is set correctly; even if it is, reselect it.

Then go to Settings/apps/Phone and make sure Dial Assist is enabled.

I've got a couple of those within the last month or so but I haven't upgraded to 18.x yet, I'm still on 17.x so I doubt it has anything to do with that. The phone only rings a couple times and ends before I can answer it. No messages left either.

Those settings didnt change and were set on my iPhone correctly. US is the region and Dial Assist is enabled.

I unset and reset.

Thanks - three of the numbers I recognize. One of them is in my contacts and since the parsing is thrown off my iPhone is not matching the called ID number to the entry in my contacts.

Does this happen with all numbers, or just a few? If it is a few re-enter the numbers in the Contacts app, and precede each one with +1
