Screenshot via gesture in Books app sometimes doesn’t work on IPad

When trying to take a screenshot of a book page in the Books app by using a gesture I turned on in settings (swipe finger from bottom left corner) it sometimes doesn’t work (approximately, it fails to work every 5-4th time). Every time it works, it forces the set of tools from markup to appear, irrespective of whether I’m using Apple Pencil or not. Every time it doesn’t work, IPad enters the screenshot mode but the set of tools doesn’t appear and after a second it just closes the screenshot mode and goes back to the exact place were I was in the book. I make somewhat long pauses (approx. a minute) between taking screenshots and also change between apps to paste cropped screenshots.

The issue was much more frequent on the previous iPadOS version.

When taking a screenshot by pressing the power and volume button this problem doesn’t appear. The markup tools also don’t appear forcefully.

This happens on IPad Pro M4, IPadOS 18.3
