I've downloaded a variable TT font for use in Pages. When I use it I get what I assume is "standard" weight but I want it to be heavier. How can I set "Medium" weight as default?
I'm sure this will be easy as pie for some but I just can't seem to work it out.
I'm using Big Sur 11 + btw.

If the third-party TrueType font does not have a medium-weight provided by the font designer, then you have no means to simulate that style in Pages. If available, you would need to download that medium font from the same designer.
It's a variable font. Theoretically, that should mean I can select any weight I want when I use it — right?
What I want to know, is how to tell Pages what weight I want.
Pages has no provision for emulating font family members (e.g. Medium) that are not physically installed on macOS. There is no incremental font-weight adjustment in the application design.
