When will Apple Music for Apple TV update to include Hi-Res Lossless Audio?

Lossless audio was launched in 2021, yet the current support is limited to 24-bit/48kHz. It seems like a missed opportunity to not update to 24-bit/192kHz as I imagine many have Apple TV as part of a Hi-fi system set-up. Trying to access Hi-Res Lossless Audio through other Apple devices is challenging.

When will Apple …

Apple usually doesn’t disclose their future plans until they are ready to announce that with great fanfare.

You may remind Apple of your wishes though, through: Feedback - Apple TV - Apple

This aspect may require HDMI 2.1 or later, as I understand it, so that is a marketing challenge for the manufacturers as well, as consumers may need to upgrade more than just the Apple TV box.

Trying to access Hi-Res Lossless Audio through other Apple devices is challenging.

A dedicated streamer device with support for the streaming music service of your choice, is more convenient than a wired connection from iPhone/iPad/Mac to a separate high-res DAC, then to your home audio system, but it isn’t challenging in a technical sense.
