If YES... why doesn't Apple do something to support Hi-Res Lossless (24bit/192kHz) from Apple-TV when Apple Music offers these audio tracks? Airplay does not support more than 16bit/44kHz to my stereo amplifier...
I am confused - the specs claim Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital 7.1, or Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound for immersive audio - and they claim "lossless" - but like you - I don't get why hi res lossless does not appear to be enabled? I would have thought the new processor could handle it, and I am sure the HDMI output could handle it - so where is the hold up? It seems daft to offer this level of quality in Apple Music downloads - but not enable it on the latest Apple TV? Can someone help me understand the issue please?
