Bitwarden Extension not appearing in Macbook running Monterey

Hi..I am wanting to move from LastPass to Bitwarden for a password manager. I downloaded the Bitwarden extension app from the App Store. I can open it but it does not appear in my extensions for Safari. I've read there have been problems if not downloaded from the App store, but I did. I may have downloaded it previously from the Bitwarden site but I deleted it from my applications and downloaded it anew. Any suggestions or will Bitwarden not work with a MacbookPro (circa 2015) running Monterey. Any help appreciated.

Third party AntiVirus is not recommended— it typically does nothing but add issues to the macOS and competes directly with Apple’s own built in security:

macOS - Security - Apple macOS - Security - Apple

  •  Gatekeeper
  •  XProtect
  •  MRT (Malware Removal Tool)
  •  SIP (System Integrity Protection)

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

keeping current the stable release of macOS including bug fixes, security updates is a prudent recommendation:
