Mac data HD showing

Hello Everyone,

This HD-Data drive has appeared (Left). Is there a way to remove it from my desktop?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

“Invisible” volume on internal drive Using Disk Utility I can see a unmounted volume called Data that’s taking up over half of the drive’s disk space, but I can’t figure out how to mount it to see what it contains. I didn’t create it (to my knowledge) and I don’t know why it’s there. I’m comfortable with Terminal if that’s what it takes to mount it/see its contents, but of course, it would be better to access with the MacOS interface. I also tried Startup Disk in Sys Prefs to see if Data volume was bootable, but it wasn’t an available option. Also, I couldn’t find a file/folder with invisibles turned on for /System/Volumes/Data. How can I see it and is it safe to get rid of it?

Macintosh HD Drive I inadvertently must have moved the HD from it's original location (default location) and it now appears on my desktop; how do I move it back? Thank you for your help.

Hard drive showing in Disk Utility but not on finder Hey, So I've tried first aid, I've tried restarting my computer, I checked to see if it's compatible with mac, I looked in finders preferences to make sure hard drives were selected, I mounted it and unmounted it, and nothing has worked so far. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

See See the devices connected to your Mac - Apple Support and try toggling the HD view option.

Your computer likely. has a Fusion Drive, if so this is normal operation and can be ignored.
