Why is my child's Apple cash stuck on "Activating"?

Recently, my child's apple cash has been stuck on "activating" and now he cannot access his money or make purchases with this stand alone apple watch. I have done every kind of reset possible (hard reset of watch, unpair and repair of watch to parent iphone, turn off and back on apple pay, lock and unlock apple cash on organizer phone). Nothing is working to fix this and it is incredibly frustrating. Child is signed in to icloud and age is showing up appropriately as 12. All devices have the latest iOS.

I have been on advanced troubleshooting twice with Apple. The last time we attempted to remove the Apple Cash card from the child's ipad and watch. The removeal from ipad worked, but we got error number "500" when we tried to remove it from the watch. Then the support stopped there and I am waiting on next steps. At this point, I just want to get a check for the money sitting in the account and move on with some other form of payment.

Sorry to bear bad news but we have the exact same problem for over 6 months.

I spent around 3 hours with apple support. Got two times trough escalation with nice apple human support dedicated to the issue.

Tried everything mentioned in the thread. Uploaded diagnostics data multiple times to be sent to devs but in the end nothing worked.

My only consolation is that my daughter is spending less as she has no apple cash but she is mad 😬
