screen mirroring not working iPhone12

I'm trying to get my wife's iPhone 12 to mirror thru a projector using HDMI and the HDMI adapter. It works fine on my iPhone13, but will not mirror with her phone. We are both at 18.2.1. I can't see anything that is keeping it from working.

The projector is a Vankyo Leisure Pro 3. since it works with my phone, I can't see that it is a projector,cable,adapter problem.
