iOS update changed Apple Podcasts playback behavior

Previously, 'hey Siri play podcast' used to result in my iphone restarting the last podcast I'd been partway through listening to.

After the last IOS update, the same request now results in the most recent podcast in my list being played which is not what I want.

Anyone know what's changed?

iOS 18 ruined Podcast app Many times I will tell Siri to play podcasts, and it will start playing another episode other than the one I was listening to. As in, I was listening to one episode, then stopped to go do something. When I tell Siri to play podcasts again, it will play something else. It won't play what I was listening to in the first place. So, in short: WHY IS THIS HAPPENING WHEN IT DIDN'T HAPPEN BEFORE I UPGRADED MY OS? This is unacceptable from a billion-dollar company. And while we're at it, why does the app constantly add episodes to a "continue listening" list (or another similar name) when I DIDN'T TELL IT TO DO SO? Stop breaking things that were working fine in the first place!

iOS 17.2.1 Podcast Issues I listen to podcasts on the Apple podcast app. Ever since I updated the iOS, my podcasts will not load. Sometimes an episode starts to play a for a few seconds but it stops to load some more. Eventually I get the “try again later” message. I’m on iPhone SE second generation.

Some new podcast episodes are downloaded but don't appear in listen now Since iOS 16 the podcast app has a very annoying problem that some new podcast episodes are downloaded but don't appear in listen now. It's always with the same shows that they don't appear there. Other shows work fine. I double-checked all the settings in the app multiple times. Is this a bug? Or is there something I can do? (I use an iPhone 12 Pro)
