iOS 18 ruined Podcast app

Many times I will tell Siri to play podcasts, and it will start playing another episode other than the one I was listening to. As in, I was listening to one episode, then stopped to go do something. When I tell Siri to play podcasts again, it will play something else. It won't play what I was listening to in the first place.

So, in short: WHY IS THIS HAPPENING WHEN IT DIDN'T HAPPEN BEFORE I UPGRADED MY OS? This is unacceptable from a billion-dollar company.

And while we're at it, why does the app constantly add episodes to a "continue listening" list (or another similar name) when I DIDN'T TELL IT TO DO SO?

Stop breaking things that were working fine in the first place!

Okay so similar to apple music when you pause the song / podcast for too long your phone or device will automatically remove the podcast or song from your lock screen, so when you say "Siri, continue playing the podcast" Siri will not be sure what you mean by continue playing and just play a randomised podcast, so I recommend specifying the podcast you want it to continue to resolve this issue, to answer your other question I am not sure.
