SInce iTunes became split between Music, Podcasts etc, I cant import a CD

When I insert a CD, iTunes (Podcasts) opens and asks if I want to import. Yes I do.

Drive whirrs and I see progress as all the tracks are imported.

Hear a success noise and cd drive opens.

Open Apple Music, tracks are not showing.

Is there an up to date reliable set of instructions? or settings? or something to make iTunes do the thing it ought to do?

Once Apple Music has installed, and normally made a one time conversion of the music section of your iTunes library, there is no further connection between the two apps. If you use iTunes to rip a CD (when Apple Music is installed) it will have probably put the tracks somewhere in the Audiobooks subfolder of your media folder. You can move them from there into the Automatically Add to Music folder to have them added properly into Apple Music.

Or you could uninstall Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Devices so that iTunes works properly again. I'm sticking with iTunes for as long as possible, the new suite is not a suitable replacement in my opinion.
