Missing Menu/Control bar and subtitles on Disney Plus in Safari on MacBook Pro

I am trying to watch Disney plus on my 2020 MacBook Pro. It’s on the safari browser because I have no idea how to add it to my laptop as an app or if that’s a possibility. Even when it’s not in full screen mode the control/menu bar is missing. No pause/play button, and I really need the subtitles. I have tried the File option and other “solutions”. There’s not an option to add it in the non existent settings. I don’t have this problem with the app on my iPhone.
