iOS 18.2 viewing videos vs photos in photo library

When viewing the new photo library in iOS 18 in dark or black background mode there is no way to tell a photo from a video. In white background you can barely see the tiny grey play button at the bottom of each video but it does not exist when viewing with black background.

That is a terrible oversight. When trying to show others a video you have to blind them with the bright white background as you scroll through the library to find a video. I never use that mode to view photo library.

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary
