I cannot find a file in numbers. It’s a large file that I access frequently. It’s not in recently deleted. It’s just not there anymore. Previously, I noticed it could not be found using my iPhone, but was easily accessed with IPad using same account. However now I cannot find it on either iPhone or iPad.

settings > iCloud > saved to iCloud > iCloud Drive .
Additionally , check icloud.com
Yes, I checked iCloud, Downloads, recently deleted, etc. What I assumed happened is that the file became too large after I worked on it last and that somehow corrupted it where it cant be found. Alternately, perhaps a software update affected it. Lastly, I use this file quite often, perhaps the last time was within the week.

How are you looking for it? From within the Numbers app or via the Files app? You may have better luck with the latter.
