Battery charging limit sometimes gets ignored

I have my charging limit set to 90% in the battery settings, but sometimes my iphone 15 pro ignores it, and simply charges fully to 100% when I don’t pay attention.

The whole point of this setting is to just leave your phone on the charger, until you need it again, but prevents it from reaching 100%.

Is there anything I can change to make sure my iphone won’t charge to 100%?

(I currently have ios 18.2.1)

Hello SravanKrA. On that page you linked, it says ”Your iPhone will charge to within a few percentage points of your chosen limit and then stop charging” - when talking about the charging limit.

I have the charging optimization setting OFF, and have my charging limit on 90%. Yet, it somehow still goes over 90% sometimes. How is that possible and what can I do to make it stop going over that limit?
