Charging limit 16 pro max not working

I am using an iPhone 16 Pro Max on 18.1. I have set my battery limit to 90%. However, my phone is still charging above 90%. Is there any solution to this issue? I will attach the screenshot .

You understand that although you have set the Charge Limit to 90%, that the battery will still charge to 100%, correct?

From Apple's Support document on battery charging:

The real question here might be what exactly is meant by "occasionally". Users....including me are reporting on this site that "occasionally" might be anywhere from 1-4 times a month, and of course this may vary.

Since you have had the phone only 3 weeks, it is going to take some time before you see any type of consistent results regarding Charge Limits.

My opinion......the Charge Limit settings are more of a gimmick than anything else.....since a lower charge limit will result in the battery having to be charged more often, but that might be another discussion.

It usually takes at least 30 days for this to analyze your charging style and needs before it works. And keep in mind, it will still charge to 100% after the 30 days on its own on occasion to keep the battery healthy.

Personally, I don't use the Charging Limit. I prefer to wake up in the morning to a battery fully charged so there would be no need to charge it during the day. I do use Optimized Battery Charging and my phone is on its charger when I go to bed, left there ALL NIGHT, connected to Wifi, so my phone backs up every night. And the Charge Limit really isn't going to stop Battery Health decline at all. Battery health decline is based on cycle charges and a cycle charge is 0 - 100%. So, if you charge from 40% to 90%, that is 1/2 cycle charge. Two nights of 40% to 90% is 1 cycle charge. No matter how you charge your phone, you're going to use full cycles along the way.

if i set to 90%, it will charge to 100% 'occationally.

Correct. The real question is how often "occasionally" might be, since it will vary. If the phone charges to 100% a few times a month, you have basically defeated the purpose of 90%, or 80%......since most of the articles on the Internet advise to Never let the battery get above 80% or 90%.

I've seen some articles that say never let the phone charge above 70%. After all, if 80% is "good", would not 70% be better?
