Insufficient storage error during Windows installation on Mac

When I try to switch to windows, it says i have too little storage even though i have more than enough

My computer is already up to date and when I go to bootcamp to start the process to get windwows, It says I have no storage for it yet when I check the storage, I have more than 10x the amount needed.

Use Disk Utility to find out how much actual Free storage space you actually have. Unfortunately Apple only displays the actual Free storage space in Disk Utility or in the Apple System Profiler. Ignore the "Available" storage value since it is very misleading & may not indicate the storage that can be used immediately.

Keep in mind that you need to have at least 20GB+ of Free storage space for macOS at all times for the normal operation of macOS.

It is also possible the storage space used on your Mac is spread across a larger portion of the drive which even if there are empty areas in between. To make a new partition only the contiguous empty portion at the end of an existing partition can be used for a new partition.
