Remove news widget from Lock Screen on iPhone SE iOS 18.2.1

Since updating to iOS 18.2.1, my iPhone SE Lock Screen has a news widget. I do not want a news widget on my Lock Screen. None of the guidance I have found on removing widgets helps. Press and hold on the widget on Lock Screen does nothing. Wallpaper customization does not say anything about widgets or news. Someone please help me get this unwanted thing off of what is supposed to be MY Lock Screen.
