More iCloud Storage then Before?

Hello! I recently did a iCloud transfer/backup to a new phone. I got a brand new phone but the same one. iPhone 14 Pro Max. I was wondering why before I transferred and had my old phone that I had around 110-120gb used out of 128Gb . Now that I restored everything and I basically see everything of mine besides me having to log into apps now it’s saying I have 62gb used out of 128. Did I do something wrong or do I just get more storage even after backing up?

Check for these setting on your new iPhone

If your old iPhone has optimised storage enabled then it may have higher available space. Know about it. With Optimize Storage, smaller, space-saving photos and videos are kept on your device while all of your original, full-resolution versions are stored in iCloud. And as long as you have enough space in iCloud, you can store as many photos and videos as you want.

Store your photos and videos in iCloud

Your photos and videos are stored on your device in their original, high-resolution version. This means that they use a lot of space on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. With iCloud Photos, you can make more space available on your device and have your entire collection, everywhere you go.

Get started with iCloud Photos:

  1. Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos.
  2. Turn on iCloud Photos.
  3. Select Optimize iPhone Storage to save space on your device.

You should clear data prior ro transferring to a new iPhone.

Troubleshooting iPhone Storage:

Internal storage cannot be upgraded. It is what it is. So, the maximum internal storage capacity never increases, even if you upgraded your iCloud plan. Learn More here: What's the Difference Between Device Storage and iCloud Storage? Apple Support
