logic 11 main menu has disappeared

I updated Logic 3 days ago, all fine until tonight, where the main drop down menu has disappeared.

i opened and old logic file, logic crashed, then opening a file saved today, the menu no longer dropped down, tried some other recent files, no change, except it appears and disappears again, sometimes.

Cant save, can’t access logic preferences etc.

anyone got a fix.
