HomePod Siri unable to play Apple Music

Siri on my HomePod - finds the music request says" now playing" - then before it starts says "Sorry there is a problem with your Apple Music"

I have rebooted everything - seraches tell me I should update the homepod software - how?? I have unplugged and left for a while and restarted only to have the same problem??

I cannot fund any decent answers and help online - very frustrating. I am paying for the music and unable to play???

No still cant view anything on HOME on my phone re the HomePod details. Tested Apple Music by using Siri on my phone - and I get a box saying bad url ?

Below is the image I get from the Home app.

I have checked wifi - and even rebooted that to make sure all is well.Everything I have is Apple and never had this problem before.- can't play there either - yet it connects to my CarPlay

Are you able to view your HomePod details in the Home up now and verified it has been updated?

In the Home app when view the HomePod settings, there is a section called Music & Podcasts. Tap on the Primary User and the Apple Account that is shown there should be the same one you have for the Apple Music subscription.

As another test, are you able to use Siri and play Apple Music on your iPhone? I assume it is your phone that has the same Apple ID showing as the Primary user in HomePod settings and the one that you are using for your Apple Music subscription.

Tap the gear on the lower right and scroll down to Restart the Home Pod. Give it a good 30 minutes to restart and quit configuring.

Checking on the bad url response when trying to play Apple Music on your phone. Not sure if the 2 things are related or not. Have seen reports of "unsupported url" when trying to play Apple Music on the phone, but no clear solution yet.
