HOMEPOD MINI PLAYS THE WRONG SONG

I have a Homepod mini connected to Apple Music, before I updated to 15.6, today i would ask “Hey Siri, play Xyz song” and it would play a completely different song. The issue continues after updating to 15.6. Please help its driving me nuts.

Hey ANOTHERITGUY,

First, we'd recommend trying the steps in this article as they may help resolve the issue: If HomePod mini or HomePod isn't responding - Apple Support

If that doesn't help, could you tell us a bit more about the issue you're seeing?

Does this only happen when trying to play one song specifically? Or is this happening with every song you try to play?

Thanks!

Hello, same issue here:

"Hey Siri, play Only You by Yazoo"

Siri: "Now playing Only You by Yazoo"...., proceeds to play random other song.....

Very annoying! No matter what song I request Siri plays a different song!!!!!

I have 2 Homepod Minis, both have the same issue, both are running software version 15.6

Please note, I am requesting music from my music library, I don't have (or want) Apple music

I have reset my router/Wifi, rebooted the Homepods but to no avail, Siri refuses to play the correct song

:-(

Nope not just you! Like you I ask for a specific song from my purchased library and it tells me it’s playing it but proceeds to play something random! Infuriating.

I don’t have Apple Music, nor after investing heavily in purchased music from Apple, do I want it!

I’ve already had to set the HomePod minis to NOT recognise my voice to get round the ‘You’ll have to update your Apple Music subscription for me to do that’ error that has been ongoing for YEARS!

Sadly, this bug behaviour is STILL manifesting in tvOS 16.0

Come on Apple, please get this onto the technicians’ radar at least. It honestly feels like you are deliberately trying to force us all down the route of buying an Apple Music subscription.

Not going to happen!

Not exactly the issue I am having at the moment, but please hear me out..

I have a Homepod, and in the past, when I asked "Hey Siri, play <title of the song>", and if there's more than one song with the same title (or version), I'd just say "Hey Siri, not this one", and it would play the next song of the same title.

Example: "Hey Siri, play "Hallelujah"" - the Homepod plays Jeff Buckley's version. "Hey Siri, not this one" - the Homepod plays Rufus Wainwright's version....

Now, when I say "Hey Siri, not this one", the Homepod responds with "I found some web results, I can show them if you ask again from your iPhone". UGH!

On my iPhone, I also used to be able to say "Hey Siri, not this one", and it would play the next song of the same title (or another version), but now, I am getting "I'm not sure I understand that one". DOUBLE UGH!

THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING.
