I wanted to ask when Apple Pay will be launched in pakistan many iPhone users here including me are eagerly waiting for this service as it would make daily transactions much easier and more secure pakistan has a rapidly growing number of iPhone users and introducing Apple Pay here would be a great addition. Can you please provide any updates or timelines for its availability in our country?

Yes, there are banking regulations that Apple Pay does not meet. However, these relate to how Apple Pay fundamentally works and gets into privacy and security measures. This includes the use of Face ID (biometrics) and the storage of transactions, personal and financial information. The data is stored offshore and that’s an issue for some nation’s privacy regulations.
Apple is always tight-lipped about their future business plans.

Thank you for the response however it’s surprising that Apple Pay has not been introduced in pakistan yet, despite the presence of several well established banks that meet international standards such as HBL, UBL, Meezan, Allied and Standard Chartered Bank. Pakistan has a significant number of iPhone users who are eagerly waiting for Apple Pay as it would make digital transactions much easier and more secure in their daily lives could you please share if there is any plan in the near future to launch Apple Pay in Pakistan? We would really appreciate an update
Thank you for your response actually I have already contacted my bank regarding this matter they mentioned that there are no restrictions from their side and they advised me to try adding my card to Apple Pay if it works then it’s fine however, if it doesn’t work it seems the issue lies with Apple not allowing the card to be added to Apple Pay at this time.
