I have around 189GB of system data in my Macbook Air M1. I tried cleaning the cache files, deleted local snapshots, and updated the OS(currently it is Sequoia 15.2) but nothing worked out, the system data hasn't reduced much. Can anyone let me know any suggestions to clear it out as it is eating my entire disk space. Thank you!

Reinstalling the OS is certainly one way to clear everything out!
For your future reference, here is a bit of guidance from Apple re: local snapshots: About Time Machine local snapshots on Mac - Apple Support
Once you have deleted snapshots and such, it may still take a reboot and a day or so for the OS to catch things up.

Finally I had to reboot first, reinstall OS 15.2 and restore everything from Time Machine ... now it is working, but I lost one day to find the problem. Perhaps Time Machine did not find the external backup disk due to an unknown reason and OS 15.2 may saved the "snapshots" as backups on the internal HD disk. Consequently it reached the maximum space of system data ... but who knows?
I myself use Clean my Mac . It works great for me to clean up junk from my Mac. Although you need to purchase it, I highly recommend it.
The application "clean my mac" did not reduce my system data, because it scans only "non system data", it is useless in this problem.
How can I effectively clear System Data on macOS?
