Issue -"Could not update "Kitchen HomePod""

Had an Apple HomePod Mini arrive today. On setting it up, did the usual. But it wasnt really working to "full capacity", and there was an update available (18.2). But it wouldn't take the update. Kept saying it lost connection. Which I thought weird. Reset it a couple times. Left it alone for an hour or so but still the same.

Then I just thought I'd switch on our AppleTV we use for our projector. And BINGO! It seems to be downloading and updating, although it is taking an age!! But at least it is not refusing to update.

Now I never set up the AppleTV within Hoemkit as far as I can remember? Just recently been seeing messages with Homekit about the Hub not being resonsive when I switch off the Apple TV!!?? or something to that.

Thought I'd post here in case anyone else has simialr issues!! Now to try and get Sonos to play nicely with HoemKit!!

Open the Home app and click the ⋯⃝ more button. Scroll down to Home Hubs and Bridges and click. What hub is serving as your HomeKit Hub. If it’s the Apple TV then yes, it must powered on but doesn’t not need to be playing. I’m not sure what you meant by “switched on” but if the Apple TV was not powered on that is likely the issue.

You can also switch off the Automatic Select option to see what other devices can serve as hubs for your Home. Experiment.
