it doesn’t show how many emails. i missed tons of important emails on the first day. plus emails i sent out were hidden to others. My emails went into their promotion folder.

The 18.2 update has totally ruined email. It is making it impossible to know if I am seeing all my essential emails as it is categorizing them in a very confusing way. If I am travelling or at work without access to my desktop -I am definitely going to miss important emails. I hate this feature and cannot find a way to opt out of it.
Because if they didn’t default to the new features then the 99% of users who never read these release notes→What’s new in iOS 18 - Apple Support wouldn’t know about the new feature.

That worked perfectly but you do need to do it for each mail account. My mail app now looks just like it did before 😁
That’s because you read the thread and learned how to make the change.
Apple for some reason is refusing to add my last post. There was nothing in it that would warrant removing it. Censorship, that’s the last straw for me
So they were getting removed because I mentioned poor technical support and that my hearing aids no longer work with iPhone since the update
I will now go to a non Apple forum who will let me speak freely about how my hearing aids don’t work anymore since the update & the poor support I’ve had with it.

Totally agree - cannot even begin to fathom how Apple thought this might be helpful. When I first opened my email I thought something had gone terribly wrong!
Thanks for your tip. Tapping List View does solve the problem of Macmail being too cumbersome.
