The VPN widget icon on my iPhone doesn’t work properly—it disconnects immediately after I try to connect. However, I can still connect to the VPN through the app itself without any issues. I’ve already tried resetting network settings and using different VPN apps, but the problem persists. This issue has followed me from my iPhone 14 Pro Max to the iPhone 16, so it seems ongoing across devices.

Ask the VPN provider.
By the way, why are you using a VPN in the first place? If you’re not using it to connect to your work or school network, it is doing absolutely nothing to protect your privacy or secure your data. Pretty much exactly the opposite, in fact.
Your VPN provider needs to update their widget to be compatible with iOS 18.
But how come my friends are using the same vpn and the icon is working fine?
Are you referring to the VPN control in the Control Center or a Widget from the VPN provider?
