VPN not working on iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS 17.4.1

I agree with Lawrence Finch and would be surprised if it ever worked on iOS 17.4.1. Even under iOS 17, there were 8 updates after that version and also wonder if you have prevented Security Updates as well.

So, update your device. The first thing you’ll have to do if you take the device to Apple Store or call/text for Apple support, is update your device. I’m not going to try to troubleshoot a device on an iOS that is over a year old and multiple upgrades/updates have been released for. It’s an effort in futility.

There was an issue with VPN's and iOS 17.4.1, which was eliminated in future updates. This had been reported last year when that specific version was released. Continuing to try and get it to work without updating is just going to make it that much more difficult.

A Factory Reset will not return you to iOS 17.4.1 as that OS is no longer signed by Apple, so first try updating. What do you have showing at Settings > General > Software Update, and at Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates.

If you haven’t updated iOS or changed something, the problem is almost certainly in your VPN configuration or server.

Nobody should be using iOS 17.4.1, that would be the problem.

Did you completely delete the VPN, including any profiles, and reinstall it?
