Logic Pro 9 to Logic Pro 11 upgrade- not a free upgrade. True?
Hello!
Recently I bought a MBP M4Pro (OS 15.1). I'm a Logic Pro user and in the past (2012) I had purchased the LP pro 9 licence. Since then, unfortunately, I couldn't upgrade to a newer machine with a newer version of logic.
So basically I made a big step from a purchased older version.
Today, checking the Appstore, I can see my LP 9 purchased licence and I tried to download it thinking that: If my Apple ID has this purchase stored then it will perhaps download the right version for the OS I'm using right now and therefore I could get the LP 11 version. But no.
I called the support line for my country and they forwarded me to an english speaking person who could answer my question about a possible free upgrade. He said, in short, that I cannot download a free upgrade and I have to pay for the latest version. The only way I could get a free upgrade was to have version 10 already installed in my machine and then download a free upgrade. But not from 9 to 11.
Is this true? I have read several things on the web before this phonecall with apple but nothing was giving a specific answer.
Is there a way to be eligible for a free upgrade in such a big version change?
I would greatly appreciate any insight in the above puzzle.
Thank you very much in advance!
